How to do anything. “WHY”.

Here is a 2 minute speech I wrote and will be presenting at 2 x local Toastmasters I attend.

It’s about why the fuck you need a strong “WHY”.

You can do anything if your WHY is strong enough.

I don’t always like pushing myself.

I don’t always like stepping out of my comfort zone.

And I don’t always like trying to do things I don’t yet know how to do.

But, I do always want to improve my life.

And I do always want to become more self-confident and self-reliant.

And I damn sure do always want to become a true master of my crafts.

My friend told me the other day that he can’t do cold showers because he’s wog and that wogs apparently don’t do the cold…

So, I told him that if I had a gun to his girlfriend’s head and I told him that I was going to kill her unless he has a cold shower I bet he would.

And I bet you would too.

You see, it’s all about the WHY…

If you have a strong WHY, you’re inspired.

If you have a strong WHY, you’re motivated.

If you have a weak WHY, you will crumble.

If you have a weak WHY, you won’t put the effort in.

Who are you doing this for, why are you doing it, where are you going and most importantly WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT!

You have to train yourself.

You have to train yourself to think more about what you want rather than what you have to do to get it.

If people truly knew how much work they would have to do to become a doctor, do you think they might give up before they start?.

If you knew how much work having children would be, do you think you might not have had them?

If you knew the amount of effort you had to put in to save a deposit to buy your own home, do you think you might have just kept on renting?

I’m not asking you to not consider the road ahead.

I’m just asking you to consider your WHY more!

Because when times get tough…

And the chips are down.

And you’re feeling scared, lazy… or stuck in a freezing cold shower…

The WHY is what gets you through.

The WHY is what picks you up by the bootstraps.

The WHY is what tells you to keep moving forward even though you can’t see where the hell you’re going!

Martin Luther King had a strong WHY?

Nelson Mandela had a strong WHY?

Mother Teresa had a strong WHY?

Do you?

My New Morning Routine

My Morning Routine I started about 4-5 weeks ago:

(By the way, this shit is fucking legit. It has changed my life already. I mean I have put a lot of other hard work in too. But, the changes I have seen in 4-5 weeks is quite impressive in my opinion. I’m less anxious, I’m more confident, I’m more ferocious, I’m mentally stronger. It makes me feel like I’m made of steel).

(1) Wake up:

I wake up whenever I wake up, which is usually around 5:30 am-6:30 am. I rarely get up later than 6:30 am.I wake up early because I am excited for the day.

I am excited for the day because I think about who I am becoming, what I am achieving and where I am going more than I think about how much I love sleep and sleep ins (Like a little bitch would).

Momentum is possibly the most underestimated facet in regard to self-help.
People don’t realise the power of momentum.
Hell, I didn’t realise the power of momentum until recently.
Momentum can build you up and it can also break you down.
You definitely have to respect momentum and if you want to get to the places you want to be you need to learn how to use it.
If I’m down I use momentum to bring me back up.
If I’m super low I start real low.
Easy little pieces of momentum.
Little pieces that aren’t pushy and don’t exhaust.
Little pieces that don’t feel tiring.
Such as the thought…
“I don’t have to figure this all out right now”.
Super light. Super easy. Non-subjective. Non-pushy.
Nice and easy.
That small feeling of relief you can create with a single low-lying thought will attract more positive thoughts.
It is law, it is law of attraction.
You can try it yourself.
Think of something you love.
And watch how a lot of other positive thoughts will start to arise and flock about your mind.
Positive attracts positive and negative attracts negative.
One easy low-lying thought of momentum can really start to get the car rolling down hill, instead of the car trying to roll up hill.
Sometimes a low-lying thought can be too hard to reach because you are just too low.
In times like this.
Be quiet.
Stop thinking.
Try to focus and be in the moment of what you are doing.
Or go for a nap.
A nap will slow momentum.
Sleep is good for you when you feel stressed.
It will reset your clock.
You are not lazy for sleeping.
You are strategic because you know that if you are to perform you need to be in the right state of mind.
And sometimes sleep can help get you there.
Everything flows easy when you are easy.
Use momentum.
Start low and work your way up.
If it feels hard, don’t do it.
If it feels easy and light go with it.
Start low and keep going.
Sooner or later you will be high.
Sky high.

Getting Up Early

It is well to be up before daybreak, for such habits contribute to health, wealth, and wisdom.
– Aristotle

I like getting up early.

When you get up early the world is quiet, the world is calm.

When you get up early, the world is.. your world.

Lately I’ve been getting up around 4:30-5:00 am, starting my morning meditation and then getting straight into my creative work.

I feel more fresh and creative in the morning.

I am definitely a morning person.

If you have a dream, a business or something else you want to work on I highly suggest getting up early one day and working on it to see if you prefer the advantages of the early morning.

The early morning is quiet, distraction free, all your friends and family are asleep and it’s dark outside, leaving you and your creations to intertwine peacefully and privately 🙂 .

You will be amazed at the level of accuracy, creativity and freedom you can emit early in the morning, before you go off to your job, get tired, come home and can’t be fucked to do anything.

Try it one morning and leave me a comment on how it goes.

If you want help waking up early here is a short 10 minute podcast by Steve Pavlina on how to wake up early that was helpful to me when I first started this practice.

Good luck.
