Yesterday I was reminded of the importance of staying in the moment.
I think I had been spending a lot of time with the voice in my head.
Too much time.
Today I want you to try staying in the moment.
Feel the seat on your ass, your feet on the floor, the wind brush your face, the touch of your hand to your internet device.
There is no fear or regret when you are in the moment.
It is impossible to feel fear of the future and regret of the past when you are in the moment.
Try to keep the voice in your head quiet and be like a dog.
You don’t see your dog worrying to much do you?
The dog is always present.
The dog lives in the moment and totally drinks in all experience, like most (if not all) other animals.
Meditation can help with this practice.
Try meditation today if you have not done it before.
5 minutes of quiet time listening and feeling the in-and-out flow of your breath with your eyes closed.
If you lose your focus, go back to breath.
Do not get angry if you lose focus, you may have never tried this before, go back to the breath and try to quite your mind.
Know that losing focus, IS a part of meditation and that each time you regain focus, you increase your ability to stay mindful of your thoughts.
There are gyms for lifting weights and there are gyms for strengthening your mind.
This is one of them.
Be quiet and just feel today.
